The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment provides leadership for development, maintenance, evaluation and advocacy of a high quality educational program for students in the District.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a major in educational leadership and/or administration or Maine administrative certification for Director of Instruction.
- Evidence of successful teaching required and prior administrative experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to facilitate teams; ability to work well with administrators, teachers, students, and parents
Primary Duties
- Participates regularly in District Administrative Team meetings, K-12 subject area curriculum committee meetings, and Board Education Committee meetings.
- Assists Superintendent in the development and implementation of all Board policies regarding curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Directs and monitors School Improvement and Targeted Support and Improvement Plans, maintaining regular communication with principals to track progress toward District and school-level objectives.
- Provides leadership for all phases of federal programs including development and submission of the Consolidated Application.
- Directs Title I, Title II, Title IV and Title V programs and activities.
- Attends workshops, meetings and conventions to remain updated on trends and developments in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Collaborates closely with school instructors and all coaches to ensure best practices in instruction.
- Provides input and implements professional development plans for the District.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the District Superintendent.
