Lakeside Concrete Cutting is seeking several Demolition Foreman, who are responsible for leading and working alongside a crew in performing demolition, removal, and site preparation on construction and abatement projects. Three to be based in Newport Maine and One to be based in Cumberland Foreside Maine, all with ability to travel to other regions of Maine as needed.
Requirements of the Demolition Foreman:
- Knowledge of demolition practices, hazardous materials handling, and construction site safety standards.
- This position is considered a “working foreman,” meaning the individual will actively perform physical job duties while overseeing and mentoring their crew.
- Strong leadership and crew management skills.
- OSHA 10 Preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate work instructions clearly.
- This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities of the Title of Position:
- Supervise, train, and coach a crew of up to three employees, ensuring adherence to company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks, providing feedback and corrective action when necessary.
- Lead daily pre-task safety meetings and communicate expectations clearly to the crew.
- Serve as a role model for punctuality, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
- Perform demolition tasks including dismantling structures, material removal, and site cleanup, while maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Complete and submit daily work orders, logs, crew hours, waste disposal records, and compliance documentation.
- Professionally communicate with contractors, supervisors, clients, regulators, and coworkers to maintain positive working relationships.
- Identify and address structural concerns before demolition; confirm utilities (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) are safe prior to removal.
- Recommend improvements to work methods, procedures, or equipment use to improve safety and efficiency.
- Operate hand tools and demolition equipment such as sledgehammers, jackhammers, saws, drills, grinders, and crowbars.
- Operate mid-level equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, scissor lifts, and floor scrapers (training provided as needed).
- Safely drive company vehicles including flatbed trucks, vans, and trailers up to 30’.
- Perform basic vehicle and equipment inspections and maintenance checks.
