The Outreach & Operations Associate is often the first point of contact at Maine Preservation. This role requires a professional with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, plus the willingness and positive attitude to meet the ever-changing needs of a dynamic (but small!) nonprofit organization. The position reports to the Executive Director and coordinates with staff to support communications and operations in addition to programs, events, and development activities.
The Outreach & Operations Associate must communicate clearly, juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. They must take initiative and be dependable; work effectively in a hybrid office; collaborate with other staff to help execute organizational strategies; and manage workflow efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Communications: Manages the organization’s social media presence, website content, and digital/print deliverables
- Operations: Performs administrative tasks like notetaking, list management, scheduling, data entry, accounts receivable and bill payment, payroll processing, and correspondence
- Programs and Events: Supports logistics and outreach for educational and awards programming, collaborates in the preparation and execution of fundraising and other events
Qualifications
Essential
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence with the ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and problem solve
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Sharepoint, ability to quickly learn new
Experience with professional social media presence and email and website content management
Associate’s degree or equivalent
Preferred
- A working knowledge of, or interest in, Maine’s history and heritage
Familiarity with CRM software, email marketing platforms, and content management systems
Familiarity with mapping programs and graphic design

Salary & Benefits
Full-time, $40,000-42,000/year
$500 monthly stipend toward health insurance premium
11 holidays, 20 vacation days, 2 personal days, 8 sick days & half-day summer Fridays
