Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Machine Mechanic to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of machinery used in our production processes. Your expertise will ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support our commitment to quality and efficiency across multiple production lines.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills to identify root causes quickly.
- Repair or replace defective parts using welding (including welding), precision measuring instruments, and industrial mechanic techniques.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Calibrate machinery with precision instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting involving low voltage and high voltage systems; work alongside industrial electricians when necessary.
- Operate field service equipment like scissor lifts safely to access elevated machinery or perform repairs at height.
Qualifications
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machinery systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and industrial maintenance procedures.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters accurately.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems and HVAC experience is a plus for supporting climate control equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with welding techniques specific to welding standards; field service experience is desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Strong customer service orientation when collaborating with team members or supporting internal clients.
