Overview:
BerryDunn is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Legal/Compliance Department. As part of the risk management function of the firm, you’ll leverage your technical skills, ability to collaborate, and your attention to detail to help the Firm track and manage its risks and obligations.
You may work on a hybrid basis out of BerryDunn’s headquarters in Portland, Maine or the office in Bangor, Maine, or may be 100% in the office if that is preferred. You will report to the Firm’s Risk Officer and will work with leaders across the Firm.
Responsibilities:
- Take a leading role during the implementation of the Firm’s enterprise risk management software. Post go-live, your role will evolve into a system administrator
- Serve as the initial point of contact for general risk management inquiries
- Serve as the primary point of contact for system technical support within the Firm
- Understand the overall structure of the system and work with leadership to maintain a workflow to approve modifications to the system
- Maintain user records and permissions
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of Firm risks
- Liaise with the software vendor on system updates and issues
- Support the risk management council through the creation of reports, presentations and other tasks as needed
- Support multiple areas of the Firm with their specific risk management needs
- Provide suggestions for continuous improvement and support overall firm risk management development
- Follow up with risk owners to ensure that predetermined risk mitigation measures are being followed
- Document all risk mitigation measures accurately in the software, helping to ensure that the Board has a clear understanding of the risks facing the firm
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or years of experience in substitution for a degree
- Experience with data entry
- Experience with ERM software
- Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or SQL
- Third party and other risk management experience a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office environment
- Excellent soft skills, including the ability to request information from leaders of the Firm, from Department Heads to the C-Suite, and follow up to get the requested information
- Ability to exercise discretion and use sound judgement
- Ability to be adaptable and a creative problem solver
- Written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
- Initiative and ability to complete sustained detailed work independently
- Ability and desire to quickly gain a foundational understanding of BerryDunn’s business
Compensation Details:
The base salary range targeted for this role is $70,000 - $90,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
