Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior
- Administer medication and assist with medication management following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support clients during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, observations, and progress in compliance with privacy standards
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings to promote independence
Core Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Assist clients with moving around, transferring from beds or chairs, and exercising.
- Meal Preparation: Cook meals, accommodate special dietary needs, and help clients eat if needed.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform basic household chores like laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and tidying living spaces.
- Health Monitoring: Track changes in a client's mood or physical condition, and report concerns to nurses or supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Certification: Completion of a state-approved Personal Support Specialist training program or certification is often required, though many employers offer on-the-job training for new hires.

- Requirements: A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check.
