What you'll be doing:
Safely and efficiently transport products to and from locations year-round
Partner with dispatch in safely transporting material
Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations
Report maintenance issues to Dispatch
Driving between 7 to 10 hours per day
Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors of self and others
Requirements of a successful CDL Driver:
2 years of driving experience utilizing Hazmat & Tanker endorsement required
Valid CDL-A license
Chemical and Liquid Tanker experience required
Must be able to qualify for a Passport and TWIC card (Financial assistance available)
Ability to workdays, nights, and occasional weekends as needed
Safety consciousness and understanding of safe work practices for operating in different environments
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Successfully pass Savage's road test, which will include a proper pre- and post-trip inspection of the vehicle
Must be one-year violations free and two years accident-free per MVR
A solid and stable work history, please include a 10-year work history on the application.
Here are some of the physical requirements of this role:
Climb into and out of the cab multiple times per shift
Climb a ladder several times a day
Lift roughly 25 pounds while connecting hoses to trailers
Drive and work in adverse weather conditions
Hook and unhook hoses and open and close valves
Must be able to wear a chemical suit and other PPE while unloading hazardous materials in all types of weather
