**Overview:**
We are seeking 2 highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegals or Legal Assistants to join our legal team on a part-time basis, with additional hours as the practice requires. As key support staff members, the successful candidates will play a crucial role in providing administrative and legal support to our attorneys. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in law, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for legal research and drafting.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist attorneys with legal research, drafting, and filing of documents.
- Utilize CLIO Case Management software, Quickbooks for bookkeeping, and Westlaw for legal research.
- Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records.
- Perform data entry and document management tasks as required.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing calendars.
- Assist with personal injury law cases, including medical malpractice intakes.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
- Collaborate with attorneys to draft legal documents, such as contracts and agreements.
- Conduct research on case investigations and facts/legal issues and provide written reports to attorneys.
**Experience:**
- Preferred, but not Required: A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as law or paralegal studies, or a paralegal certificate.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as a paralegal or in a related role.
- Strong knowledge of legal research and drafting techniques.
- Proficiency with legal software and databases.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
**Skills:**
- Experience with personal injury law, medical malpractice and criminal defense
- Strong research skills, including the ability to use legal databases and conduct in-depth research.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Proficiency with data entry and document management software.
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized files and records.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to apply legal knowledge in practical settings.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $19.42 - $19.88 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
