Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, socializing and enjoying a meal.
Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs.
Follows administration protocol. Administers medication only upon a written physician's order.
Records administration of the medication on resident's medication administration record. Discards medication refused or otherwise not given and refusals.
Respond to calls for assistance; elevates care to RN or LPN as needed.
Assist with bed and linen changes.
May assist with 2-person or Hoyer bed lifts
Encourages participation in events and activities.
Utilizes specialized training to communicate with residents experiencing dementia.
Serves as a warm and friendly companion to residents within all levels of care.
Qualifications:
Maine CRMA certification required. Piper Shores will sponsor payment of a training program for candidates without a current certification.
Experience working with a senior population preferred; will provide training to entry-level candidates
Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors and co-workers
Ability to stand and move for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently required.
