Indian & Forest Acres Camp, is a premier brother/sister sleep-away camp in the White Mountains of Maine, (3 hours outside Boston, 1 hour outside of Portland, ME). We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Tennis Director to join our team this summer. This is a Full Time Seasonal Position from June through August.
As a Tennis Director, you will be responsible for providing high-quality tennis instruction and clinics for campers all ages and skill levels. You will also lead the staff in training, providing them with drills and tennis technique to instruct the campers with. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about tennis and enjoy working with students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TENNIS DIRECTOR
- Provides instruction on basic tennis skills under the direction of the Tennis Pros.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and tennis instruction to campers while modeling good behavior such as good sportsmanship and courtesy.
- Familiarity with the rules and regulations of the game of tennis.
- A background in college or high school tennis.
- Experience working with and supervising young children, pre-teens and teenagers.
- Have an understanding of the capabilities, needs, and interests of children.
- Reliable, responsible, good judgment, patience, and a sense of humor.
- Ability and desire to work with campers and adults in a camp setting
- Ability to communicate clearly, to be flexible and adaptable, and to remain calm in an emergency
