The employment dates for the Arts and Crafts Director for Summer 2025 are June 18th-Aug 14th.
Indian & Forest Acres Camp, a premier brother/sister sleep-away camp in the White Mountains of Maine, (3 hours outside Boston, 1 hour outside of Portland, ME) is currently looking for a Arts and Crafts Director to run the Arts and Crafts program at our camp.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ARTS AND CRAFTS DIRECTOR:
- Ability to plan and lead creative projects across many modalities (drawing, painting, ceramics, sewing, wood working)
- Ability to use a variety of arts and craft materials
- Instruct students in proper use of materials and techniques
- Knowledge of art and craft techniques
- Ability to explain instructions clearly
- Experience working with and supervising young children, pre-teens and teenagers.
- Have an understanding of the capabilities, needs, and interests of children.
- Reliable, responsible, good judgment, patience, and a sense of humor.
- Ability and desire to work with campers and other staff members in a camp setting
- Ability to communicate clearly, to be flexible and adaptable, and to remain calm in an emergency
