Woodfords Family Services is seeking to hire an enthusiastic and collaborative Training Specialist to join our training department! This position is full-time (40 hrs.), salaried, and based onsite at our Training & Resource Center in Westbrook, ME!

Position Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of all trainings required of Woodfords staff, as well as for external customers. Related responsibilities include maintenance of all training supplies and equipment, development of course materials, and set-up and break-down of classrooms.
Training Specialists report to the Director of Training & Professional Development and are responsible for the following:
- Provide orientation to new employees.
- Achieve and maintain all instructor certifications required to carry out position responsibilities including American Heart Association First Aid/CPR, Behavioral Health Professional, Child Passenger Safety, College of Direct Support and Safety-Care.
- Maintain all teaching materials and equipment.
- Develop, review and teach new curriculum to internal and external customers. Delivery may occur in the classroom or via a virtual training platform.
- Be available to teach occasional evening and weekend classes, as well as travel to satellite locations including Augusta, Bangor, Kennebunk, Manchester, Gray and Waterville.
- Provide training to employees in the following areas (but not limited to): Advocacy for Children and Families, Leadership Development Series, Behavioral Health Professional, Child Passenger Safety, Safety-Care & Safety-Care for Families, CPR/First Aid, Sexuality & Professional Boundaries, College of Direct Support & HCBS Modules, Understanding Trauma, Documentation & Incident Reporting, Violence in the Workplace Health & Safety.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time (40 hrs.) Monday-Friday, with occasional nights and weekend trainings required.
- Hybrid Schedule Eligibility - opportunities to work some remote days upon completion of the introductory period.
- $45,000 - $48,000 per year - commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of relevant instructional experience with adult learners.
- Experience with developmental disabilities is beneficial.
- Team focused with excellent communication, collaboration, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
