General Manager
The Candlewood Suites in Scarborough, ME is hiring for a new General Manager
We’re on the lookout for true leaders. We need a new General Manager to take the top job at the Candlewood Suites and make it their own. Taking ownership of the day-to-day hotel direction, maximizing financial returns, driving people development and empowering our team to create memorable guest experiences every step along the way.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but the priorities are:
· Developing programmes and initiatives to increase team engagement and achieve against performance and development goals
· Maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards – collaborating with colleagues to exceed guest expectations
· Building relationships with guests and external contacts such as current and potential clients, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers and local communities
· Driving revenues, future profitability and maximum return on investment
What we need from you
· Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration
· Previous Hotel management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
What we expect from you
· To be present for your team, lead them to success while creating an environment they look forward to coming to each day
· Utilize the tools the brand provides to ensure we are compliant with the brand standards and that we are providing the best experience for our guests
· Know your revenue, identify opportunities to increase rate on a day-to-day and future basis, as well as identify issues that could prevent increased revenue day to day (out of order rooms for example)
· Follow the budget, utilizing the tools and systems our company provides to keep expenses in line and increase the profit of the hotel.
· Maximize staff productivity to its fullest and maintain a limited-service hotel payroll

Salary: $80,000-$85,000
