The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full-time Alternative Learning Math/Science Teacher at Westbrook Middle School, beginning immediately. This opening is for a permanent position. The ideal candidate is an energetic, positive educator dedicated to teaching early adolescents in an interdisciplinary, project-based Alternative Education program. This position is part of a two teacher team that works with a social worker, school counselors and administration to select appropriate students for this highly supported Tier 3 program. Primary instructional duties will be Math and Science. Students typically have moderate to high ability to learn but are experiencing challenges within the educational environment that interfere with their academic success. Successful candidates for this position will be driven to help students with social-emotional challenges while working with a full compliment of student supports. Maine State Department of Education teacher certification required (100 and/or 200 endorsement preferred).
