The Role: Clinical Nurse Instructor (RN)
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Health is excited to announce an opening for a Clinical Nurse Instructor! We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is enthusiastic about educating the next generation of nurses in our top-quality teaching facility. This unique opportunity offers the ability to positively impact the clinical experience of your future peers, while maintaining acute care competencies as you work at the bedside in your area of expertise between student rotations. The Clinical Nurse Instructor will utilize curriculum to educate and evaluate nursing students, as well as supervise and support them in the clinical setting at MGH.
Schedule is 7a-7p. At times, weekend work may be needed.
Position Highlights:
• Perfect for a nurse who has a passion for precepting new hires & students.
The Work:
- Works collaboratively with academic and administrative leadership to assess the needs and objectives of nursing students and develops appropriate solutions.
- Applies knowledge of learning principles to teach various types of content.
- Monitors students’ progress throughout assigned courses and provides appropriate support and resources. Evaluates students’ practical application of classroom information. Ensures safe practices in the clinical setting at all times.
- Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care. Evaluates patient and family learning needs and uses education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), preferred
- Previous work experience in Med/Surg and Maternity, preferred
- Strong clinical skills
