We are seeking a skilled **Facilities Technician II** to join our Infectious Disease Lateral Flow business unit. In this role, you will perform routine repairs and maintenance on facilities equipment under general supervision, engaging in multiple maintenance trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and installation.
**Location:** Westbrook, Maine
**Schedule:** **Rotating 12-hour shifts from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM, including every other weekend.**
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
+ Conduct routine, periodic, and special inspections to identify necessary repairs and corrective actions to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
+ Complete preventive maintenance work orders using Maximo CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software).
+ Assist in packing, moving, and reconfiguring facility areas as needed.
+ Perform renovation and repair tasks on facilities, including walls, doors, windows, and flooring.
+ Interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, layouts, and wiring diagrams.
+ Prepare documentation related to preventive maintenance activities.
+ Escort and assist outside repair personnel in fulfilling their contractual obligations.
+ Maintain accurate records and inventory of spare parts and materials, providing supervisors with necessary information for securing replacements.
+ Respond to alarm or trouble calls as required.
+ Support engineering and other departments with the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
+ Provide guidance to other technicians and personnel within the Facilities Department.
+ Recommend cost-saving initiatives to management.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING**
**REQUIRED**
+ High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 3+ years of experience in a similar field.
+ Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical repair, rebuild, and field service.
+ Familiarity with formal preventive maintenance programs.
+ Experience in a company operating under ISO, FDA, or similar quality systems or regulations.
+ Ability to evaluate work and determine necessary procedures for job completion.
+ Strong prioritization skills to ensure high standards of operation, appearance, and upkeep of the facility.
+ Solid mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to recommend effective solutions.
+ Capability to safely and effectively repair and upgrade equipment as needed.
+ Prior experience using Microsoft Outlook.
**Preferred**
+ Technical degree in Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, or a related technical field.
