Salary: $55,000/year
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm

We are in search of a dynamic Training Manager, based out of our Westbrook office.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The training manager is responsible for current curriculum of training programs as well as the implementation of new training courses based on the need for continued learning throughout the agency. This position works to consistently meet all state and agency regulatory compliance as it relates to training in each program. This role is integral in the success and development of succession planning for residential programs, community services programs, brain injury programs and all other agency departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administer and manage DSP training with the College of Direct Support.
Sign up Creative Works employees, new and existing, for trainings including but not limited to CRMA, WELLE, CPR/First Aid, QBISP and professional development.
Maintain accurate and detailed training files for all employees.
Schedule trainings and update the training calendar agency wide.
Identify needed/appropriate trainings and develop curriculums and programs.
Conduct trainings as appropriate in various locations.
Assist with development of entry level management trainings.
Facilitate trainings at agency wide meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor, evaluate and record training activities. Communicate when trainings are due for recertification for all employees.
Determine training program's effectiveness and propose new initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of trainings.
Assess the training needs of employees and work with supervisors to help facilitate a training plan for employees.
Organize, develop and obtain new training programs as appropriate.
Present information using different techniques such as lecture, group discussions, role playing or videos to engage participation of employees.
Evaluate training materials.
Manage training budget.
Work closely with other departments to facilitate New Employee Orientation.
Comply with all policies as stated in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.
Project professional image at all times.
All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL TOLERANCES
Ability to do standing/sedentary tasks for long periods of time.
Ability to perform range of motion tasks, including but not limited to; reaching, bending, stretching, stooping and lifting.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (all personnel are trained in correct lifting procedures.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Valid Driver’s License.
Satisfactory driving record per agency’s insurance company standards.
Degrees in related field a plus.
Strategic thinker and ability to forecast training needs long term.
Team player.
Excellent communication skills, writing skills and time management skills.
Trustworthy and confidential.
Teaching experience highly desirable.
Experience supporting people with disabilities desired.
