Job Description:
TheMaine Departmentof Transportationis seeking entry-level civilengineering candidates tofillavariety ofpositions intheBureau ofProject Development.TheHighway Programhas a position that will beworking in ateam environment on the design ofroadwayor related projects.
Preliminary design tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Development of Preliminary Design Reports to recommend the final project scope,
- Preliminary cost estimates, and
- Civil engineering tasks such as analyzing geometric design of roadways.
Final design responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Civil/structural design or design checks of all components,
- Plan development,
- Final cost estimates, and
- Compiling all project specifications.
This position willbe introduced toproject management principles and advanced technical engineering duties/responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are required
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field –OR- non-engineering college graduates and non-degreed candidates must possess a Certification of Engineer-Intern as issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
