Core Responsibilities:
As the Estate Management Supervisor for Adult Protective Services, you will:
• Directly oversee Estate Management activities of all assets belonging to adults under Public Guardianship or Conservatorship.
• Be responsible for collaborating with regional APS staff, the Office of the Attorney General, Probate Courts, Veterans Administration, Social Security Administration, financial institutions and other state and private agencies to protect and maximize client assets.
• Coordinate the development, testing and implementation of updates and enhancements to Maine’s Adult Protective Services web based information systems. (MAPSIS), including identifying needed changes and enhancements, developing work plans, and establishing operational priorities.
• Acquire knowledge of the Maine Probate Code and all aspects of Adult Protective Services and Public Guardianship rules and procedures to suggest program enhancements, provide training, quality assurance and to represent OADS as necessary.
• Work with considerable autonomy receiving administrative direction from the Associate Director, Adult Protective Services. Your work will require occasional state-wide travel and overnight stays.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have an eight (8) year combination of education and/or professional experience in estate management and planning and/or adult protective services.
The background of well-qualified candidates will demonstrate the following competencies:
1. A thorough knowledge of rules, regulations and processes associated with OADS Estate Management of assets belonging to adults under Public Guardianship and Conservatorship.
2. A thorough knowledge of MAPSIS (Maine Adult Protective Services Information System) and Evergreen or comparable automated case management system.
3. Demonstrable experience providing in a leadership or management role with direct supervision of employees.
