A removal technician at a funeral home is responsible for the care, transportation, and removal of deceased people.
Receiving calls: answer first calls from manager of night time removal team.
Transporting remains: transport deceased people from a variety of locations, including hospitals, nursing homes, residences, and accident scenes, to funeral homes, crematories, and medical examiner's facilities.
Following policies: follow all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Representing the company: represent the company in a professional manner.
Some qualifications for a removal technician include:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- The ability to lift and carry heavy loads with care and respect
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- The ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
