STRUCTURAL APPRENTICE:
Atlantic Structural is a leader in the structural repair, leveling and building elevation business in Maine. We are growing and have work scheduled into 2027. There is considerable room for career advancement.
The Structural Apprentice is a unique entry-level opportunity to the structural services industry.
Within your first 12-months as a Structural Apprentice at Atlantic Structural, you will have worked extensively with our Project Manager to develop solid skills suited specifically to the building preservation / repair field. With active on-the-job training, you will have learned the tools, methods and process of the structural services trade, how to deploy, secure and maintain tools and equipment in the field while preserving a safe and organized work site. You will have learned about the materials utilized in our work and be able to anticipate the next steps and needs of the structural team while collaborating to accomplish team objectives. The apprentice is a support tech at the center of the most important work we perform and therefore, career advancement is expected. This position is eligible for additional education, in-service certifications and tuition reimbursement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a professional, honest and trust worthy ambassador of Atlantic Structural, yourself, and your colleagues;
- Collaborate with your team to support team objectives and strategies;
- Learn about and assist in the performance of repair tasks with attention to detail;
- Learn to fabricate and inventory steel bracketry;
- Maintain tools and resources ready for use;
- Work closely with the lifting team to ensure safe jobsite operations;
- Support a high level of craftsmanship and adherence to company performance standards;
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
REQUIREMENTS:
- No experience necessary:
- Must be physically fit and be able to lift 50# without assistance.
- Curiosity, interest in learning;
- An ability to read a measuring tape and make cuts would be a bonus;
- general knowledge of tools and materials;
- Ability to read, write legibly;
- Ability to work well in a team and independently;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Valid driver's license;
- Reliable transportation;
- no smoking or use of cannabis on our projects;
- Ability to pass a background check;

REPORTING:
This position reports to the Project Manager, who will provide needed guidance and support through training and development. You will learn from experienced professionals.
