Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Work on energy infrastructure drafting and design projects.
- Create plans and/or drafting deliverables for infrastructure and utilities.
- Adhere to company and industry design and drafting standards.
- May assist the Drafting & Design (D&D) Coordinator and/or Senior Drafter in reviewing the work of other drafters
for accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Create overall project sheet layout and criteria.
- Utilizes advanced AutoCAD skills to setup projects and relationships between drawing and other files.
- Create 3D objects in Civil 3D such as points, surfaces, alignments and profiles.
- Understand and manage User, Plant, and Geographic Coordinate Systems.
- Understand the difference and relationship between real world coordinates and plant grid coordinates in 2D and
3D model backgrounds.
- Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assist in design drafting.
- Consult with engineers regarding model accuracy and design parameters.
- Works with drafting team, D&D Coordinator, Senior Drafter, Senior Designer, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Perform related duties as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Duties are largely performed in an office.
- Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screen.
- May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
- Position requires travel (expected to be less than 10%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record
required.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25
pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability
to adjust focus.
Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to demonstrate all key qualifications of a Drafter I.
- Must have current expertise in Cadworx and/or Plant 3d.
- Knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific criterion.
- Experience with site layout, utility design, boundary and easement plans, alignment sheets and details
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
- Must have excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel,
Access and Outlook.
- Ability to adhere to company and industry design and drafting standards.
- Excellent organizational skills are preferred.
- Ability to work well independently, works with all levels of management, prioritize tasks, resolve problems and
follow through.

Experience And Education
- Advance level of training and experience using AutoCAD products as a primary function of work.
- Must have current expertise in Cadworx and/or Plant 3d.
- Intermediate or Advanced level of training and experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Knowledge of civil, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering, survey data, and/or experience working with
engineering firms.
- Associate of Arts or Science in Engineering, Drafting, Design, Graphic Arts, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of primary project work experience.
