Summary: Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP) is growing and adding a new Coordinator role to our dynamic program team! We are seeking a Program Coordinator to support our team's efforts to expand food access and manage the daily operations of grocery-focused food distribution. This role oversees the OrderAhead (online free grocery ordering) program, as well as other offsite programming including Satellite Pantries, School Pantries, and home deliveries. A successful candidate will be organized, have the ability to work flexibly and with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
The Coordinator will lead with compassion and care when interacting with stakeholders such as volunteers and service users. They will take pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and well-functioning work environment while supporting general agency operations. Professional communication skills, dependability, and a commitment to food justice are essential. This position provides critical human resources for program evaluation and capacity building as community needs continue to rise.
Schedule: Full-time hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day OrderAhead operations, including stocking, volunteer management, and program coverage.
Oversee various satellite and school pantry distributions, including communications, food ordering, budget management, volunteer coordination, and deliveries as needed.
Coordinate Thursday home deliveries for our older adult delivery program including food ordering, budget management, and volunteer coordination.
Lead agency SNAP enrollment and outreach efforts to increase community access to federal food benefits by offering SNAP enrollment and attending educational and outreach events.
Provide general program coverage for the Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, and delivery programs as needed.
Support agency program evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement efforts to ensure high standards of service.
Provide excellent customer service to members of the public visiting MCHPP sites for donations or services.
Work collaboratively with program management and staff to meet daily operational and long-term strategic goals.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability and desire to coordinate administrative tasks, volunteer management, and food handling needs within a warehouse and pantry setting.
Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and kneel.
The employee must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds by hand and load/unload a 1,500-pound vehicle by hand.
Ability to learn and safely operate equipment such as an electric pallet jack and walkie stacker to move larger loads.
Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to agency insurance carriers.
Background check required.
This is an essential position that requires attendance to work on-site, including 1-3 specified holidays per year and winter weather days if the agency remains open.
