Primary Purposes of Position
The Director of Bridging the Gap (BTG) heads up Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church's (Emmanuel) outreach programs that are offered through BTG, on behalf of the Emmanuel Leadership Team by: managing the team of staff and volunteers at BTG, creating and reporting on the annual budgets, managing contracts with grant writers and reporting to patrons, networks and markets BTG within the wider community, all while growing BTG in line with its core values and mission.

Specific Responsibilities
Finances, Fundraising, and Donations
●Create and track an annual budget for BTG
●Manage grant writers, providing them with the material they need to successfully secure grants for BTG.
●Track grants, reporting to grantors, and the leadership team.
●Run an annual fundraising campaign, reporting to and thanking donors.
●Identify new funding opportunities and pursuing them, or assign applying for grants to the grant writers.
●Process incoming monetary donations according to best practices and maintain consistent communication with the bookkeeper.
●Write and send acknowledgement letters promptly.
Human Resources and Staff Management
●Oversee all BTG staff and ensure/supporting them so that they can perform their roles to their fullest potential.
●Manage the BTG staff schedule and accurately report employee hours to payroll.
●Facilitate monthly staff meetings.
●In conjunction with the Pastor, conduct hiring interviews for any BTG staff vacancies.
●Provide line management to all BTG staff and in coordination with the Pastor and in line with Emmanuel’s HR manual, take any necessary disciplinary steps.
●In coordination with the Pastor, conduct annual performance reviews for staff.
●Maintain oversight of volunteers and the volunteer experience in coordination with staff assigned responsibility for the volunteers' daily work.
Office Management, Reporting, and Record Keeping
●Write and send monthly reports to various stakeholders (including the leadership team).
●Maintain confidential files and archives.
●Tally and record monthly service numbers and other metrics/data about the work of BTG.
●Manage BTG’s technology resources (laptops, phones etc.) and arrange maintenance when needed.
●Help ensure that office supplies and supplies for daily operations are on hand.
●Report any facility maintenance needs to the appointed leadership team representative for them to address.
Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing
●Create and oversee the ongoing marketing plan.
●Keep partners and funders updated as necessary.
●Create press releases as appropriate.
●Accept speaking engagements as appropriate.
●Engage in relevant broader community conversations, committees, and task forces.
●Manage BTG’s Facebook account and any other social media accounts developed.
Organizational Development
●Ensure that BTG is operating in line with its core values
●Keep up to date on best practices in the social service field
●Foster a positive and respectful work environment
●Maintain open communication with the Leadership Team, staff, and volunteers
●Ensure that BTG is operating within its legal bounds
Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Pastor and the Leadership team President.
