Line Cook / Prep Cook
The East Wind Inn is a well-established inn and restaurant in Tenants Harbor, Maine, known for warm hospitality, fresh local food, and a loyal returning guest base. Our kitchen prepares New England classics and seasonal dishes from scratch in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
We’re looking for a dependable and hardworking line cook/prep cook to join our small kitchen team year-round. This is a hands-on role supporting dinner service, events, and occasional breakfast shifts.
The inn operates with extended breaks twice per year, offering team members an opportunity for meaningful time off between operating seasons.

What the Job Looks Like
Service & Cooking
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes with strong presentation
* Work on the line during dinner service alongside the chef
* Execute menu items using established recipes and techniques (grill, sauté, broil)
Prep & Kitchen Support
* Assist with daily food prep (vegetables, proteins, sauces)
* Support event and wedding food preparation throughout the year
* Set up and break down kitchen workstations
Team & Operations
* Communicate with kitchen and front-of-house during service
* Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work areas
* Follow food safety and sanitation standards
Additional Responsibilities
* Fill in for breakfast service a maximum of twice per month (10–15 item menu)
* Assist with dishwashing, mopping, trash, recycling, and general kitchen upkeep as needed

What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 2 years of restaurant kitchen experience (or equivalent)
* Experience working on the line during service
* Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen operations
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

The Details
* 40+ hours per week
