Homeworthy is hiring an Administrative Assistant to be part of our dynamic Administrative and Development team! The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive support to the senior leadership team in areas critical to fundraising, communications, administration, and client-facing activities. This job will be rewarding, fun, and creative in a growing and innovative non-profit organization in Knox County, Maine. Homeworthy has many new and exciting initiatives planned or in process. The Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative support, manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate logistics, prepare materials, and provide general administrative support for the Executive Director and leadership team, as well as the Board of Directors on occasion. Other duties include supporting key fundraising activities, including, but not limited to, major donor prospect research, donor appeal mailings, acknowledgement letters, and fundraising events, and project management support for select agency, client, and external projects.
The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise sound, independent judgment in a variety of situations, and to handle confidential matters and information with discretion, professionalism, and diplomacy. They will be service-oriented and solution-focused. The Administrative Assistant will have strong interpersonal and listening skills, be able to communicate effectively in diverse settings, and interact respectfully with a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and personalities.The Administrative Assistant must be creative, resourceful, an excellent problem solver, highly organized, and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven, strengths-based, and client-focused. A positive attitude, flexibility, and sense of humor are a must.
The Administrative Assistant will possess extremely strong written and verbal communication skills, administrative skills, organizational skills, project management skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple, competing priorities and deadlines. Frequent interruptions and changing priorities are to be expected. Attention to detail will be required to perform this job successfully. Must be proficient with current technology, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn new softwares easily. Experience with Little Green Light or an equivalent donor database is a plus!
Qualified candidates for this position will have a minimum of 4 years of progressive administrative experience supporting senior level staff, or be able to articulate how their experience and/or skills prepare them for the role as defined. Nonprofit experience, a plus!
A valid driver’s license is required, and tasks may require travel around the Midcoast region.
This position will pay $21-23/hr, based on experience.
