GAC Chemical Corporation in Searsport, Maine is looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our maintenance team. This role works within a chemical manufacturing environment and requires solid industrial electrical knowledge along with instrumentation and controls experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, machinery, and equipment
- Working with industrial switchgear, transformers, and motor control centers (MCCs)
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Working with PLC controls and electro-mechanical systems
- Designing, specifying, and ordering materials for electrical support systems
- Making manual adjustments to steam boilers when required
- Following NEC standards and company safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Two-year degree or certificate in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation, OR a State Electrical License
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls
- Ability to read schematics and work with PLCs
- Maine High Pressure Boiler Operator License preferred, but not required
- High school diploma or GED required
