Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Representative to oversee day-to-day field operations for a fast-track restaurant construction project in Portland, Maine. This approximately 12-week assignment requires a highly organized and proactive field leader capable of coordinating multiple trades in a fast-paced environment to ensure the project is completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial tenant fit-outs, restaurant builds, or fast-track construction projects and is comfortable working in a schedule-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily on-site construction activities and field operations
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Maintain and drive the project schedule to meet the aggressive timeline
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, safety, and workmanship
Enforce job site safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance
Coordinate trade sequencing to maintain project momentum
Identify and resolve field issues quickly to avoid schedule delays
Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding schedule, progress, and potential challenges
Coordinate inspections with local authorities and ensure code compliance
Maintain daily reports, site logs, and photo documentation
Assist with punch list completion and project closeout
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Construction Site Representative on commercial construction projects
Experience with restaurant builds, retail construction, or fast-track projects preferred
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience with construction management software such as Procore is a plus
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain a well-organized and efficient job site under tight deadlines
